well for me its diff. since i just recently moved from a town 10 min. outside of indianapolis and i have family and friends there.. i will likely be back and forth more than the average kid IF(this is a big if) i decide to attend

Indy and Bloomington are only 50 miles apart. Fun college town and close to family/friends.

yea bloomington is great.. my jr. year i used to go down at least once a month w/ friends. Sadly i planned on being an engineering major at first and decided to apply to purdue, ive since started leaning more towards the life sciences but my parents wont pay for my apps and im not paying the $55 myself... it really doesnt matter though b/c chances are ill end up at either u of dayton, ohio u or maybe depauw if they give me a huge financial package

Your parents won't pay for your apps? Why not? This is your future! BTW, now that you're OOS, IU is generous with their faculty awards for OOS'ers with good stats. DePauw had a nice little campus, no action in town, but I guess 75% of students go Greek for their social life. You haven't found any good Tenn. schools for in-state tuition?

I HATE TN and i dont qualify as in-state until my sophomore year anyway. My parents wont pay for more apps(unless there HBCU) b/c they know im likely not to attend. Ive already recieved a 10k/yr. scholarship from u of dayton and im waiting to apply for a dept. scholarship that im likely to get. I actually wouldnt mind attending IU but i just dont want to fill out any more apps.

I heard Memphis is a nice town...not? That's great about those scholarships. We didn't see UDayton or OhioU when we did the Ohio college loop. Too many others on the list. Either of them a must-see? BTW, IU's app is a breeze--no essays.

Ohio U is good but is Athens a good college town? I only visited once for a conference and had no chance to visit the U. Uh...is Athens somewhat conservative?

Athens is the definition of a college town in fact ou IS the town, it is a must see definitely but it is no way conservative... memphis is a TERRIBLE place.

hey guys i am in 2yr of high school right now and planning to get into Purdue but i m not sure how to write a killer essay that can blow off the reader’s mind…so guys please help me in writing a killer essay… and i’ll be doing under grad with astronautical engineering.

Well, now that we know what Holy Scripture says, why discuss it any further?

Purdue is good for engineering, but it isn’t great for anything else. It is also in the middle of no where (although so are most of the big ten schools).

I am a Boiler and can tell you depending on what you study, you will get a great education and job prospects at Purdue. It is a quieter campus than IU but you can definitely find a party without too much trouble and a lot of other fun stuff to do.
Brand new Rec Center, fun fball and basketball, nice housing, fun greek system if you are so inclined. Krannert has an excellent reputation but their Business focus is different than IU’s. Engineering & Ag - also excellent. Their Honors College is as highly ranked as IU’s altho it has only been in place since 2005. Purdue’s Campus is much more compact but still pretty and traditional looking. Purdue and IU are just two very different schools. Both good.

Purdue certainly worked out well for the a friend’s daughter, who will graduate next June with a civil engineering degree. She already has a good job offer.
