I'm a rising senior and I'd like to hear some opinions!

Actually, if I were you, I would choose NYUSH

Freddy000 knows whats up. NYUSH is where its at.

Back in 10th grade I had a semester long obsession with it, but this year I realized I only wanted to apply because of the exotic location - it has weak course offerings, doesn’t have the languages I want, etc. The same for Shanghai. So I ended up not even applying.

So my advice is don’t apply if the only reason you have is it sounds cool…

It depends on what you are looking for. Since I want to study business and finance, the languages offered at NYUSH are perfect (and since you have to study at least a semester abroad- you literally have the opportunity to learn any language you please. Just because they don’t offer a major in that area does not mean that it doesn’t offer the best opportunity to learn a language).

And as far as it having “weak course offerings” is completely not true- especially in regards to NYUAD. Since this is the first year NYUSH is open (and they are only admitting 150 international students) the majors selection is more limited- since its pretty pointless to have a Architecture major, for example, if only one student would be taking the courses. But NYUAD is literally, the most competitive undergrad school in the world in regards to percentage admitted, and their courses are extremely prestigious. I see the point that CSIHSIS is making, however if you know what area you want to study, and NYUAD (or NYUSH) offers that area, then you would be foolish not to go if you could get in/afford it. And trust me, if you get into NYUAD their financial aid will cover you to go (in many areas, like plane tickets included).

So I mean, I suppose in an extremely narrow perspective their “offerings” are limited to the most demanded and applicable majors (which is still a lot, you should look it up at their website nyuad.nyu.edu and shanghai.nyu.edu) however, their courses are world renowned, and I truly urge you to apply if they have a major you are interested in. It is not the location that makes NYUAD and NYUSH great- it is the people.

I am not a student of NYUAD. I am just a guy who spent a weekend there (candidate weekend). To begin with, NYUAD is the most amazing school u will ever come across and i say this after coming across 22 top schools (all ivies included). It is so amazing u will begin to love it if u haven’t b4. I can’t lecture u here on CC but, know this, their courses r d direct opposite of weak. Their professors are ivy-grade minus d hubris. The community will blow ur mind. Funding is as available as oxygen. D study abroad I believe is the best on d globe with more than 9 sites globally, at least 1 on every continent… U will get any course (and i mean ANY) u want… And best of all, d student population. Its so amazing, and all dis b4 graduating d first class. Pls note, all dis info is from d lips of current students nd teachers we met during d candidate wknd. Plus, we had sample classes so I know wat I am saying. But don’t take my word for it, apply! I’m sure u have an excellent resume! Once u get flown to Abu Dhabi, all expenses paid, and u experience NYUAD and AD in all their glory, well… Starstruck would be an understatement! P.S.:apply to NYUSH too

Chuksy also knows whats up! NYUAD/NYUSH are doing something totally amazing, they are creating the education system of the future.

What about the environment around the campus? Do you think everyone can fit in with an ease? Going to the middle east is definitely a difficult decision to make… let alone the weather…
