I am a freshman majoring in Business and need this class. I am a commuter and the in-class version of this statistics class does not fit into my schedule so I am thinking about taking the statistics class online. I will be taking Intro to MacroEcon as well as an Elective course. Do you think that would be a good idea? Any comments in general?

Elements of Statistical Methods: Elementary concepts of probability and sampling; binomial and normal distributions. Basic concepts of hypothesis testing, estimation, and confidence intervals; t-tests and chi-square tests. Linear regression theory and the analysis of variance.

This is the class that you get credit for if you pass the AP Statistics exam. Too bad I never took it...

I’m currently taking an online English class and I hate it. The teacher never gives feedback and probably doesn’t even live here. He’s hard to get ahold of (after all, can’t just go up to him after class and ask questions) which makes everything more difficult. I wouldn’t recommend, especially for a math class. English can be winged, something as technical as math, not so much.
Bottom line: wouldn’t recommend.

I am taking an online Philosophy course over the summer. I am only doing it to fill a humanities and this is the easiest/quickest/most conveinent way to do it. All I need is a C and I assume that’ll be easy if I just do the HW.

You should have taken the AP Stats test, it was a joke. Of course I couldn’t get any meaningful credit from it.

The actually class though can be a little tricky near the end. As long as there is a good way for you to get info. I say go for it.

I take 1 summer class every year because that way i can keep myself in line just a little bit more. Otherwise I get into partyin too much and from there theres no stopping. But i wouldnt recommend takin a math class. Take English or some history class.
