What do YOU think will happen to you?

depending on the test that i am taking in 30 minutes, i could have a 3.5...

okay guys, i'm 1 for 2 so far.. i got in at smith, but still waiting on nyu. still think that will be a reject

so what ended up happening to people?

duke - rejected
jhu - accepted
pomona - rejected
wustl - accepted

wow you already got all of those decisions?

i got into WashU (woo!) and still waiting from Stanford, and naive optimism leads me to believe I have a chance

nono i thought this was a chance yourself thread
lol sorry people
ive only heard from washu

I'm really glad to see so many people getting into WashU. If that's your top choice, it's awesome, but even if not, it's an amazing back-up choice that has really made myself and probably many others a little less worried about the transfer process since we have somewhere to go in the fall for sure.

Of interest is that only about 200 people get into WashU per year as transfers (out of >800 applicants) so we have a pretty large representation here on CC.

Hey Cowboy, why are you transferring out of GT? I just got accepted there and I am trying to figure out if I want to go there. I am an Industrial Engineering major (GT has been #1 17 years running in that major).
Its also tough because I am from California, so its a really big shift.

ps. what is with the "bump" thing?

I am thinking I will be accepted to Northwestern but will opt to return to Illinois

So far I've heard back from:

As a followup to everybody else's forecasts,
Current school: Cornell University (school of eng.)
GPA: 3.7ish

Applying Standing: Junior
Intended Major: ChemE
HS GPA: mid 90s (don't really remember)
Hook: female/Cornell??? if not too many fellow Eng. Cornellians are applying supposedly.

Applying to:
Just Columbia SEAS - I'd say it's a 50% chance since I don't stand out too much from the other appl.s, rel. weak ECs, and rel. light courseload last semester.

Applying to: Stanford, where I will be rejected due to small acceptance rate.

brackis,

Even if Stanford admits a very selective group of students, I think that you have a fantastic shot given the information you've posted. If you are qualified, regardless of their acceptance rate, you will get in.

MidtoTop,
I appreciate your encouragement. From my first hand experiences with Stanford I consider it to be one of, if not the finest academic locations in existence. Psychologically I've come to peace with the fact that the competition will undoubtedly be staunch, and thus I must plan as if I will remain at Northwestern for 3 successful years; any other result will come as a glorious disruption to my future.
-Brad

I got into U-M LSA

i wish there was a way to fast forward a month to know the decisions of BC and ND and then rewind back so that i can either have a blast as my last month and UW or prepare for another 3years here....
