What does it take to transfer to Stanford from community college?

Lack of taste.
Go for UCB.

High SAT scores, amazing recs and a small miracle.

The next coming of Jesus, and you're him?

hahaaha pyromouse..."lack of taste" and i'd like to add "lack of common sense"

better chances at berkeley, cheaper, and 1st in the world in a public university education...

take a clue...f stanford

Why do people bash other schools? What emotional connection do they have with one, that makes all others tasteless?

Cal equals somewhat smart but no $$$$ v. Stanford, smarter with $$$$ or poor enough for full aid. Also, Cal takes any idiot who's a sports star and Stanford actually has standards.

I thought Cal sucked at sports.

Stanford pretends to not care about sports stars but it does. In either case, it is silly.

stanford is better in every way (if they were equal $$$)

i disagree....with the 'every way' part. that is far from true.

and how is it far from true?

seems to me that everyone, except bitter berkeley kids agree.

I agree.

Though USNews is not a precise indicator of school quality, there is a reason why Stanford is ranked wayyyy higher than Cal, and it is not because of the sports teams.

if you ever get sick, there's world class treatment right next door :D

lol. ok thanks guys. haha i guess it pretty much takes a miracle.

whoa, just kidding around. Come on, I'm only into the rivalry for the fun of it. Aren't you?

You think I'm bitter? Hell, I was told I had better odds of transfering to Stanford than Berkeley, but I didn't even bother to apply.

Plus, in Engineering Berkeley and Stanford have been ranked right next to each other for a while. Only Stanford costs ~4 times as much.

I believe stanford has lost every single game this season so far

Edit: And yeah im only hating on stanford cause i like cal better and the rivalry between the two schools is fun

Cal's english and math department is like #1 in the us? hence stanford isn't better than cal in every way?

Who really cares? They both have their pros and cons. I prefer Stanford because of the undergraduate experience, and dislike Cal for their undergraduate experience. In the end, they both offer something to some people and nothing to others. The goal is to choose a school that offers something to you.

If posters here are bitter to the extent that they want to start posting rankings, they are too busy being jealous of another school rather than being too busy extracting the myriad resources their own school has to offer.

nsped...you like one and dislike the other based on undergraduate experience, but its hilarious because chances are you've only experience one of their undergraduate experiences...and if you've never attended stanford or uc berkeley, i dont see why your commenting on the undergraduate experience to begin with lol
