What does this mean?

I just received an letter from Pitt saying "The Admissions Committe has reviewed your application and requested that you forward additional information, specifically your mid-senior grades. Once we recieve this information, your application will be reviewed again and you will be notified about your status"

Does this mean that I am waitlisted? Or my stats are not good enough upon first review? Has anyone else recieve this letter?

My grades are 4 A's and 3 B's in a tough senior year with 7 IB classes and is upward-trending from my junior year.

Thanks

It means you have been “deferred”. Pitt will review your application again in January/February after you forward your Mid Term (mid senior year) grades. Work hard between now and then. Evidently you are close to being accepted and they want to see how well you do during first half of this school year.
Good Luck!!!

Get your first semester grades to them AS SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE. Make sure your school does not sit on it. It’s still rolling admissions so the earlier they get them the better. It sounds like you’ll be in good shape if you keep your grades up. (You might even want to send your quarter grades if you can.)

Hey, I might end up being in the same boat as you. I’m just wondering, what was your GPA and SAT/ACT scores?

Is there a reason that I have to send my first marking period grades instead of semester? Is that better or worse?

If the first marking period grades were very strong, send them. They might enable Pitt to make a decision earlier and if they don’t, then send the semester grades. A few folks commented in past years that they were accepted after sending quarter grades. Don’t count on it though and make sure to keep the grades up.

If they weren’t strong, then work to get them up so you can send strong semester grades.

iPhoneHacker

My stats are 1270/1600 and 1800/2400 SAT
26 ACT
3.3 uw GPA, 4.1 w GPA
Tons of (6) AP and (8) IB Classes by the end of this year.
Good EC’s and essay (about my experiences starting and running an afterschool homework club at my local elementary school)

Thanks, I’ve got similar stats as you

My gpa is a 3.1 UW, 31 on my ACT, I have a 4.0 so far in senior year, which kind of sucks considering that mot colleges won’t see that.
