<p>to those who said they recieved a "admission committee review" status update within the last day or so... and to everyone else who hasn't received anything at all yet... keep in mind that last year, the last person to receive an admissions packet/scholarship packet that was in the first wave was around the 14th of February... so yes, there is probably still some time to receive a scholarship-- yes the chances are narrowing but you never know. Has anyone called recently to ask anything about mailings, etc.? Good luck everyone! :D</p>

<p>why would they be reviewing transfers when theres 35k freshman apps? =x anyone got any suggestions?</p>

<p>I also wonder if they were waiting to see FAFSA/CSS from certain students to see if they qualify for need, and then meet some of the need with a scholarship. Especially if they were boarder-line for the scholarship.</p>
<p>My status page says my application is still being reviewed by the admissions committee.</p>
<p>However I already received my acceptance letter from the University. Says it was last updated 1/29/09, and my letter was dated 1/28/09.</p>
<p>So i'm not sure how much to trust the online notices if mine's still being reviewed, unless I'm lucky and they decided they might wanna give me a scholarship after all. :-)</p>

<p>no request for MDY, but I sent them in anyways, since I got pretty good grades this semester, and continues upward trend, etc.</p>
<p>I got the letter about not getting one of the big scholarship chances, and that I am still considered for the other smaller scholarships and stuff. No email about financial aid, but I did submit both FAFSA and CSS on Jan 30th or so.</p>
<p>Does anyone know how they select apps to be reviewed at a certain time? Do they plug the apps into the computer and start from the top of the list down? Because it definitely seems like the sooner you're in, the most qualified you are. Or is it based on region? Everyone from my school that I have talked to says their statuses are still in "preliminary review." Is that just a coincidence, or are they reviewed based upon school etc.? Oooor is it completely arbitrary? anyone have answers or thoughts??</p>
<p>I believe that the only time when "the sooner you're in , the more qualified you are" is only valid for the scholarship consideration acceptances. Otherwise, it doesnt matter. </p>

<p>:( I just got a letter, postmarked Feb 3, about how I'm not getting a big scholarship... ;_; No updates on my status page, still stuck at 12/12 prelim. Things are looking even more grim for my chances here...</p>
<p>Oh, and the letter also came with the final sentence "Also, if you haven't already done so, please submit the grades you earned from the first marking period of your senior year. For your convenience, you may submit your grades online at yada yada yada."</p>
<p>Is this a formal request for my grades? I would hate to think so, because
1.) I already sent them in around early January and my school has sent transcripts that reflect these new grades, and
2.) My grades are probably the strongest point on my app. I received two B's total throughout high school, both in freshman year. Everything else has been A's</p>
<p>disasterpiece02, I got that same letter dated 02/03/09 and my status is still stuck on prelim since 01/13/09. I sent in my mid year grades towards the end of January, but not any new transcripts. </p>
<p>Couple of weeks ago, I also got a financial aid booklet in the mail ... not sure if that would mean anything, but at least USC is sending me some information :)</p>

<p>got the no scholarship letter and a 2/5/09 update of application "in review" hasnt changed to we want to see your grades, does this mean anything?</p>
<p>I have the status that says the admissions committee is currently reviewing my application, and I received the letter requesting midyear grades about 1 week ago. Then yesterday I received the letter saying that I have not received one of the 2 big scholarships.</p>
