Taxi1113: where in the Chicago area are you? My son applied to USC Architecture and we live in the northwest suburbs. He review is 2/4/09. He received the no scholarship letter.

I'm in the northern suburbs. Hopefully I'll be on review in the next week or two. Also, tell your son that I heard Architecture is tough. When I visited, I talked to a guy in Architecture and he said they practically have to sleep in the Architecture building.

Yeah.. I did the Architecture program one summer at the USC Summer Seminars and let me tell you.. it was definitely tough! I can imagine its much harder as an undergraduate....

um okay...so my other friend got a 2/11/09 update

something's going on....

is anyone's status still something about waiting to be processed.. it says it takes a few days and it's been over a month and my application still hasn't been processed... uh

So my status finally changed to:

"We have completed an initial review of your application and would like to see the results of the first term of your senior year (final, not mid-term marks)."

I submitted them online about a month ago, but know my school only sent them earlier this week. I applied by the scholarship deadline and received the consolation No letter, but anyway, how does this all look as far as me getting accepted with scholarships? [no presidential, trustees, or dean's or anything, just general merit ones]

I got a 33 on the ACT, and have a 98.6/100 GPA - am I definitely in, and the request for grades could just be for scholarship allotting purposes? [/optimism] Or is this just a sign that I'm borderline?

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.

Updated 2/12/2009

I haven't even had my school send in my transcript yet. does this mean they don't have to send it?

Anyone else STILL have this message?

"Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/MDYResponse, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st."

I sent my mid-year reports in and everything. Does this mean I was outright denied at the very beginning? I shouldn't have been...3.77 GPA, 2150 SAT, 2250 SAT II, 32 ACT...I mean it's not EXTRAORDINARY, but definitely passable for USC?

Echo, I still have the prelim message since 12/12 and I think I might be in a worse situation than you... 3.95/4.23, 2080 SAT, URM though...

Have had that message since 11/24. 4.0, ACT 32, 1990 SAT. Got the "no" letter on scholarships as well. My sister got in four years ago with slightly lower scores, but higher GPA - no scholarship.

I'm with all of you

no status change

is this status good or bad?

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

it was updated 2/02

Good. It means that a decision may not be too far away, or you might have to wait until April. The statuses have been rather weird as of late.

ah okay. I dont want to wait until April thats all the rejected letter or thats what i have heard hahah. Few i feel a little better about my desicion haha. Thanks!

Anyone know if being reviewed comes before or after we would like to see your midyear grades? Or does midyear grades come after prelim review, then to we have recieved your grades...

^^ I went from prelim review to midyear grades

Ahhh lucky! I'm getting worried now...

My application status is unable to process!!! What does this mean? Ahhhhh!
