I REALLY hope I get in!

Do they send acceptance letters first and then rejections?

^^No, but I did just now get my financial aid booklet, postmarked 1/23. I got all excited for some reason then I read that it was addressed to my mom...

So at school today a bunch of us were looking at our USC statuses. I applied to Marshall by the December 1 deadline and have been stuck in preliminary review since December 19. The two people next to me applied in January and they have the "being reviewed" status updated within February. Someone across from me had something about an initial review? Is that before or after prelim review? Is there any method to these application reviews??

Hmm I applied to Marshall by the December 1 deadline and I am still stuck in prelim review since 01/13. I think initial review is before prelim review.

Looks like there are quite a few of us who are stuck on prelim review ...

I wouldn't lose any hope... I don't think they've looked over half of the applications yet and I honestly don't see how they would reject me even though my SAT/GPA aren't high enough for scholarship consideration, I'm still legacy and lots of other EC's/Good essays... and I'm still on prelim view from 1/05 in NorCal..

I'm in Chicago, applied by 12/1 to Marshall, and am in prelim. review as well. I think NJL is right though, I don't think they've even gone through many applications besides that prelim. review.
