I submitted my common app yesterday thinking that it was the writing part except it was actually my unedited version of the supplement page. I was working on the real one on microsoft word....

Ahh! Now I have 3 grammar mistakes that are so conspicuous it may likely bring damage to my entire application! I wrote "it's" when it should have been "its" and I repeated a word in the same sentence. I also ended a sentence wrongly...

Ahhh this is so bad and I am freaking out right now.
Should I call the school to tell them my technical mistake? Or will that bring even more attention??? HELP!!!

Spelling the name of the school wrong on the envelope won't be TOO much of a problem because assistants are the ones who open them up and file them. I doubt they'll be anal enough to write a note on your application telling the officers of your mistake. If they are, I wouldn't want to go to that school anyways.

I just skimmed through my Common App:
- I missed a "the"
- I misspelled "month"

I also submitted my first app two minutes past the scholarship deadline (Nov. 1st) and forgot to give my counselor the Secondary School Report (which I gave to her today, thankfully).

Ughh...posted this in another thread but I write two different hours for a certain activity I did. Wrote 12 hours in the Activities section (that's how many hours I had anticipated volunteering before I actually started) and 20 hours in the resume I attached in the Additonal Info section (the actual number of hours per week I did).

i wrote the wrong sat date, instead of 5/08, i accidentally wrote 6/08
does anybody know what to do?
please help, because i'm kind of freaking out since i used that application for four schools.

I sent in the wrong draft of my personal statement essay to one university. They asked for a maximum of 500 words, I sent my real draft with 700 words instead of working more to take 200 words out... I had completely forgotten about it

In my activities section, I said I was doing Academic Decathlon this year. I wasn't paying attention, and I submitted my app with the box checked that said I wanted to do Acadec in college. =\ Too bad it's only for high schoolers.

I forgot to sign the waiver of rights on the common app teacher rec forms before my teachers mailed them! I emailed the schools, though, and they said it is just a technicality that will not impact their admission decision.

i didnt put my school code on one of my teacher rec letter forms and i put the wrong number of credits for my calc3 and LA classes but put the right number on my online thingy.

.. I could have entered QuestBridge, but when I got the email during March I forgot about it. Now I can't join and it could have helped me so much. Sadness.

i dont think i made any mistakes but in my app one of my ECs was a research project. at the time of app deadline i didnt have enough info but with more info i guess i could make it seem more impressive. i wish i can still change it

HAA. none of yours compare to myy mistake lol. For one school I thought the commonapp supplement said it should be like a short answer (like 150-250 words) for what major you're interested in, but of course - it is a 500 word serious essay that is highly considered in the admissions process. freakin greaaat.
