What happens if some UC info doesn't match with FAFSA info?

On my UC app, I put my household number as 3, whereas my FAFSA app has a household number of 2. My UC app household income is also a little higher than what's reported on my FAFSA app.

Does it make a difference? Should I submit a change request to my UC app so far into the application process?

Thanks in advance. (Sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

Why did you put different info on each? Why put 3 on one and 2 on another? Why put different incomes?

On your UC app is that just the “application for school” or is it something that has to do with FA? If it’s just your app for school, then I wouldn’t worry too much about it. But the info on FAFSA needs to be right.

The info on the FAFSA needs to be accurate, and needs to be something you can document as accurate if need be. Does the UC application for admission ask for income? Or was this some application for financial aid.

Please clarify?

And agreed…why is the info different, regardless of the forms?

These were under the About You section in Family Size & Income on the UC app. What happened was I filled out the UC app with what I thought to be right. When I filled out the FAFSA app a few months later in January, I realized that my family size was actually one lower and that my family income was actually a little less than what I had put on the UC app.

The info on FAFSA is right. The fact that the school app info is a bit different isn’t a big deal. They just use that to determine whether someone comes from a disadvantaged situation. Your mistake isn’t some big lie.

@mom2collegekids Ok I was worried it might significnatly affect my admission chances or something. Thanks for the help.
