I'm planning to apply to transfer as an EECS major for UCB this fall for 2013, but my concern is that I will probably not be able to finish within 2 years after I transfer because of financial problems.

Will I still be able to finish the degree at UCB or will they kick me out if I don't finish within two years?

Thank you! :)

you should be fine unless the major says that you need to finish their courses within 2 years. I know haas requires you to finish the major in two years, but that is also because once you get admitted from a community college as a transfer student, you only follow their course plan of core and elective courses

Call and ask them. Berkeley is very strict on graduating within 2 years, although I’m not sure if it applies to Engineering as well.

At UCB Engineering and most Physical science majors can petition for an additional semester and it is usually granted. However, you really need to finish by the end of your fifth semester since petitions for any additional time are almost always rejected and your enrollment at UCB will be terminated.
