What happens when...

You get accepted, but don't finish all pre-reqs? I said in my application that I was taking a class this quarter, but I've since had to drop it due to circumstances. Now I won't be able to finish the series by the time I transfer. Will they rescind the acceptance?

Contact the schools you applied to and let them know what happened and what class(es) you dropped. They might rescind your acceptance if you don’t let them know about dropped classes, or transcripts don’t match what you reported. If you are accepted with missing pre-reqs, you’ll just finish them up at the school you transfer to.

It also depends on campus/major…there are some where prerequisites are required to be completed before transfer.

Damn. That’s what I didn’t want to hear. So if I tell them what happened, there’s a good chance they won’t rescind? I’m majoring in physics, and I’ve done basically all the required classes (even the suggested ones), but won’t be able to take the very last physics course.

Which campuses did u apply to?

UCB
LA
SD
SB
and Davis

decline to comment…but FINISH YOUR PRE-REQ"S!!!

It depends on the school and your major. Some schools may be lenient on the requirements depending on your major. You can simply finish them once you transfer. But there will be a fine line with others, especially with impacted majors at the better schools. In any case, you have to report your W to all schools anyways. You’ll find your answer once you call them.

And you also have summer to finish all your prerequisites, in case you were wondering.
