What?! How many periods does your school have??

4 periods per semester here. 8:15-2:45. 75 minute lunch. It's actually quite nice...

Wow, it must be nice! Our lunch is only 30 mins, which is really short if you go buy lunch

We get 8 classes, with four 75-minute classes every day + 1 hr lunch + 15 minute rec + 30 minute amusing assembly/students gathering every morning :)

... and we go from 8:30 - 3:30 ... not too bad I guess :D

When I was in high school (finished 3 years ago :) ) it was 8.45-3.45, 8 periods of classes (between 35 and 50 minutes in length) plus lunch, and I took an extra class outside of school which was 4.30-6.00 2 days a week.

7 academic periods
4th period is split up into two and you eat lunch one half - meets 45 min 5 days a week
1,2,3,5,7 - 45 min monday and friday, and you drop two periods on T,W,Th (so they meet 4 days a week) and on the days the period doesn't drop it meets for 70 minutes.

assembly 810-825. classes 825-240/3/245 (depending on the day)

Block: four 90-minute periods per day. New classes in the spring.

We have block scheduling, so 4 periods. We change classes midway through the year.

O.P. : It's not a disadvantage if you have fewer periods. Admissions people look at what you have accomplished in context with what your school offered you

i have 9 periods from 8 to 3 including 1 lunch period

8 periods in the day - "zero" period in the morning (7:15 - 8:00) for band and broadcasting 8:00 to 2:50 school day

We have six periods, 8:02-3:01 (never understood why its not 8-3). We have 0period for some classes at seven in the morning, and a 7th period if you want to do orchestra. We still cant get many APs in... The only ones offered late in the day are Calc AB and Comp Sci...

up to 11 periods if you're in a 0 period class. But usually 9 and lunch. 5 academic subjects, 3 studio (art, music, voice, tech, dance, drama) periods, gym (one term a year) and lunch= 10. i think classes are 42mins each, with 4 mins between each. 8:10-3:26

we have 6 classes a day, 54 minutes each except for 2 period which is "home room" which means amost nothing and is 69 min, our lunch is 35 minutes and passing period is 7 mins, school runs from 7:30 to 2:10, there is a 7th period for a few classes, like AVID, and PE

My school has 5 regular blocks each day on a rotating schedule.

Example (Schedule Day 1, aka 'A Block'):
|-------A-------|---B---|--LUNCH--|---C---|---D---|---E--|

Example (Schedule Day 2, aka 'B Block'):
|-------B-------|---C---|--LUNCH--|---D---|---E---|---A--|

School starts at 8:55 and ends at 3:40. About 350 kids (Grade 10-12).
Each block is approx. 1 hour with a double first block. Two semesters.
Jazz band is before school. AP Psych and Applied Publishing are at lunch.

Our school used to be on the same schedule as mexican_dude, but was changed. We are the only intense-scheduled high school in the area (the other high school, singular, is on a 9-block system).

Eight 45-minute periods each day. We have a bizarre, seven-day cycle that sometimes starts at 8:15, 8:30, and 9:00, and varies in ending from 1:00, 2:15, 3:00, and 3:15. Depending on the day of the cycle, we have 30-minute breaks or 45-minute meetings thrown in.

wow, mine seems pretty straightfoward compared to some of these. 8 periods MTF, 40 minutes each with lunch (only 20 minutes!) during period 5. On W and Th we have double periods to allow for labs and such, with 4 periods 1357 and 2468. Thats it.

We have 6 classes per day and lunch, although we have a rotating schedule...We have a total of 8 classes...

7 per day
7:05 - 2:05 on M,T,TH,F
7:05-1:05 on W

It's early and it sucks. But I get home from 2 hour sports practices at 5 which isn't too bad.

4 a semester, 80 min classes
7:45-2:35 (always hope it's actually 2:25...then I check my planner and see that it's :35)

5 classes a trimester, 72 minutes long each
You can take a zero hour too, and that is from like 7:00 to end of 4th hour 2:13
Of course, a lot of people take zero hours because if you do that, you cant take a 5th hour class for credit, in fact, you are supposed to go home, but you CAN take seminary (for the Mormons only) 5th hour, so a lot of people do that.....in fact, about 40% of my school takes seminary..

8:30 to 3:30.....for the class of 2005 (me) we have had different time periods for school each year. (our highschool is 10-12)

in 10th grade, it was 8:00 to 3:00, then 11th grade 9:00 to 4:00, now this year its 8:30 to 3:30.....

do you know whats weird though

Our Elementry schools (grades 1-6) are on the trimester system
Our 3 Junior high schools (grades 7-9) are on the semester system
Our 2 High schools (grades 10-12) are on the trimester system...

whoever came up w/ this should be shot, because its so stupid and dumb....why not just have trimesters for ALL the schools...

my school has 7 periods total, but only 5 per day, on a 7-day rotating schedule. 4 of the 5 periods/day are 60 minutes long, but the lunch period class is 80 minutes (not including the 25 minutes to eat). 7 minutes between classes. 7:45 - 2:10.
