What I can do to if I can't finish the 60 units requirement.

I'm now at a community college and supposed to transfer this fall. I have received an offer from UCSD for linguistics major. I know I should have completed at least 60 units and IGECT by the end of this spring, but it is very likely that one of my class will fail in the end...:( I'm still struggling with every little hope that I may pass it. If I did fail, I would have only 57 units and one class uncompleted for IGECT Area 4.
Now it is too late for me to find a late start class in my college. I wonder what I can do to help myself at this point. I really don't want to wait for another year. Anyone has some idea? Or knows where I can find a late start class though it is already April?

Try signing up for PCC(Pasadena city college) we have an extended spring that starts in may and ends in June and it’s considered part of the spring semester. Registration has already started, but there are still classes avaliable.

Well I would first talk to your professor to see where you stand, what is left in the semester and what it would take from you to get a C. Hard work is probably the best option.
Second, have you talked to UCSD? Will they let you take summer school? I applied to UCI knowing I was missing one class for igetc but I did not know I was short units. They contacted me and said I was short one unit and that my admission was still a go if I took care of it over summer. I am opting to take a three unit course that will also fulfill the Igetc requirement.

Did you take any APs in high school? If you’re only counting your college units towards your 60 unit requirement, and you didn’t take your AP credits into consideration, you might still be able to save yourself.

Also, see if you can take any online classes at a community college that’s still enrolling for Spring quarter. That way, you won’t have to physically commute to two community colleges at once but you’ll still be able to take an extra class to put you over the 60 unit mark.

@pCC, I’m an out of state student (Virginia) and I was accepted to SJSU. I’m using SJSU as a back up in case I don’t get into UCI or UCD. I was emailed a couple weeks ago that one of my english classes did not meet their basic requirement for critical thinking. It’s too late to register for spring classes here. I was wondering if I can take Philosophy (it is considered critical thinking) for the extended period even though I’ve never been a part of of CCC system. Can I sign up for just 1 class at Pasadena?

You’re not a cc student?
I’m pretty sure you can. If you’re planning to take a critical thinking english class take the philosophy like you said (Philosophy 25) take it when rogacs online it’s easy.
