What if: Accepted to a college, but get a C- or lower in second semester class

Will a college rescind my acceptance, or just not count that course toward any credit?

Depends. At best, they’re going to be alarmed. How are your other grades? If the rest are all fine and you were just really struggling in one class, I think you can probably explain the circumstances to the college.

Can you withdraw at this point? I think a W probably looks better than a D or F.

Yea, the worst I’ll have in my other classes is a B. I had some medical issues early in the semester, also, so the A’s I had last semester have dropped down.

I’m a second semester freshman, and I need 8 credits (4 classes each semester) to qualify for transferring.

Trust me I’m in a similar situation but if it makes you feel better, my situation is way worse. I was accepted to my college of choice and ended up receiving an F for one class and a W for another in my last semester of classes. I’m praying for a miracle when I go and talk to admissions. Not everyone is perfect, we all make mistakes, however it does not justify the fact that we shouldn’t face the consequences for them as well. =/ That’s what I’m starting to slowly realize.
