I took AP Psych yesterday. It was a mess. I totally bombed the FRQ section. I don't really know how well on did on the multiple choice.

Since it was self-study, I feel that I have to send colleges my score report because they wouldn't have proof that I self-studied it. My guidance counselor and teachers are writing about my self-studies in their recs for me, but I feel that I still need to tell colleges my scores.

I am literally sick to my stomach. I don't want to cancel my score but neither do I want a 2 or 1 affect my admissions to college.

There’s no possible benefit to canceling the score vs. deciding not to send it in later. If you do get less than three, I would not send the scores in. You might consider asking whoever is writing your recs to write about your independent study of psychology without mentioning the test.

Well, are you a senior or a junior? I really couldn’t see it affecting you as a senior, but I guess if you didn’t want to affect your possibility of getting a AP Scholar award or whatever you could just cancel it like you have been considering. Just make sure you know if you did as terrible as you think, becuase if you possibly got a three you would still pass, but if you cancelled it you would have wasted 87 bucks.

Regardless of your score, colleges like to see that you took a college-level course (probably even more if you self-studied). Even a 1 or 2 can’t hurt you that much, especially if you emphasize that you self-studied.

I’m currently a junior. I self-studied AP Economics as well. I’m apparently the only kid in my 128 student class that ever self-studied an exam. I think my guidance counelor said that I was the second student ever in the school who ever self-studied AP exams…and the only that ever self-studied to this extent. But hey honestly, I don’t feel like to matter that much anymore.

I self-studied last year AP World and got a 3.
