I have played the flute since 5th grade, recent songs include The Lord of The Ring(Gollum flute part is AWESOME ), Demons by Imagine Dragons(private).

I know this is a kind of old forum, but I still wanted to add on. I play the cello and the piano, but I am mainly a pianist and I am working on schubert’s impromptu no.2 an rachmaninoff’s vocalise, a piano duet with cello.

I play violin, piano, and accordion. I love playing violin and accordion best! For violin, I am working on Boureé (I cannot remember the composer right now, I know that it is a popular name for songs…). For accordion I am working on a waltz called Silver and Gold (I am pretty sure that is what it is called… :P).

I started playing violin when I was six or seven, but then stopped for a little bit. I started up again in fifth grade and I have been doing it ever since! I am a freshman so that would be around 4-5 years!

I have played accordion for 2-3 years, and I LOVE it!

I play the piano currently, and I’ve started playing it since I was 5. I’m working on Desperate Measures by Muczynski, Bach French Suite No. 2, Mozart Sonata K576, and Jardins suis la pluie by Debussy. I really want to continue playing the piano in college I also played the violin from 3rd-5th grade and played the flute from 5th-8th grade. I’m in 9th grade now btw

@clarinetkid you’re playing rach 2?!?! I just read your post and I seriously fangirled since I love rach’s piano concertos and since it’s such a difficult piece! are you playing all the movements or just one in particular? and then I fangirled even more since piano’s not even the instrument you’re planning to major in college?? how do you even have enough time to do piano, clarinet, and other stuff at the same time? sorry for all these questions

I don’t play any instrument. [-( I can play very basic songs on the piano, but I don’t know how to read music. I want to teach myself guitar (and possibly piano) over the summer, though, since I want to learn to play some of my favorite songs.

@dragonfruit18, yeahhhh Rach 2!!! It’s been my favorite piece pretty much since I started piano, and I’m super excited to be working on it. Just the first movement for now (gonna enter some competitions), but I’ll definitely read through the other two movements sometime - it’s such an amazing work as a whole!
Playing more than one instrument seriously is definitely a time drain, but I love music, so it’s worth it. For what it’s worth, I don’t have much “other stuff” going on

Been playing flute for ~5 years, and currently working on Griffes Poem, the Ibert concerto, and some obscure Italian piece I can’t remember the name of… I want to learn the Reinecke concerto though. It’s one of my favorites. #sodonewiththechaminade

I played both french horn and trumpet in elementary school, but I was forced to quit band so I could get into a language in middle school.

I also tried learning guitar in second grade, but we had to stop my lessons and my interest in it sort of… dissolved as well.

But I am part of my school’s guard (which happens to be a lot better than our band; I don’t know what happened, since our middle school band and orchestra are both the best in our state).

I used to play piano, took lessons for four years. Took violin for two years. Handbells for three years. I am trying to teach myself how to play the flute and the fife. Also I am a singer and have sung in choirs since the age of five. I am finding it hard to stay involved in singing because I left one of the choirs at my school that had a lot of performance opportunities. Right now my choir class is singing some pretty difficult music, including Desh, which requires overtones.

I took piano lessons on-and-off for a couple of years, but I was never very good at it. I’m not a huge fan of classical music, so I mostly played modern stuff like Coldplay.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a mandolin (impulse buy), and I’ve been teaching myself with books and online videos since then. I might learn at a faster pace with a teacher, but honestly, figuring it out myself is a lot more fun. :)
