Somebody told me about a club called 4-H. Not really sure what it does, I looked it up and the website doesn’t say much about what the exact events are that it holds. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, do you think it could become a good school club?
4H is a group that focuses on agriculture and home based skills that represent head, heart, hands, and h…in a shamrockish logo. It has been around forever and lots of kids participate with many preparing for or competing in skills they wil! use at home or work. Like scouting it targets skills and values that you support. Four H requires interest and a time commitment and is a unique EC.
I did 4-H through middle and high school; it started as agricultural, but it’s pretty diverse. Usually during the year you do community service projects, and then in the summer you would do projects for the county fair.
It can’t actually be a school club, at least not to the best of my knowledge; to found a local 4-H club, you have to go to your county’s 4-H extension office, but there’s probably an already-established club in your area: https://4-h.org/find/
Thanks for your replies! I was also wondering about 4-H projects. What exactly is a 4-H project?
