What is academic renewal?

<p>coastline seem to be the one.</p>

<p>its about to be spring, I’m leaving this summer, I don’t have time to take units now, Im petitioning the grade so I should be good…</p>

<p>According to [their</a> AR policy](<a href=“http://www.coastline.edu/files/Petition%20for%20Academic%20Renewal%202011.pdf]their”>http://www.coastline.edu/files/Petition%20for%20Academic%20Renewal%202011.pdf), Coastline disregards work from other schools “in order to meet the grade point average requirements for an A.A. Degree or Certificate of Achievement toward graduation.”</p>

<p>Like I wrote, If you have completed all your other courses at Delta or wherever else with x amount of units and x gpa [MJC] might still approve your petition.</p>

<p>If your grade petition is approved then you won’t have to worry about AR so you should be “good”. Good luck.</p>

<p>Hi I have a question how many classes can u academically renew that u have a D or F in? thanks</p>

<p>@clutch211: It depends on the school. Each school has different policies, from number of units to even couple of semesters. Do you mind telling me which college you are looking into? I can look it for you.</p>

I’ve been concerned about this issue on academic renewal as well. Currently Im attending CSULB as a transfer student from IVC. Prior to transferring I had 2 D’s that hurt my gpa; along with those grades, i also received passing grades that are required prerequisites toward my bachelors degree.

If I appeal for academic renewal, what happens to my the classes i successfully passed in those semesters? Would this mean I would have to retake those courses again?

@wTyler this thread is SIX years old.

You are unlikely to get a response. I’d start a new thread
