http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT_Exam

ACT is an achievement test, meaning that either you know the material or you dont. Think of the questions on the SAT Subject Tests.

Guess if you dont know as your score is only determined by the number correct, not like the SAT.

The ACT has a Science reasoning section, unlike the SAT.

There are 4 sections on the ACT:
1. English (Grammar)
2. Mathematics
3. Reading
4. Science

Some students will ace the ACT but bomb the SAT, others will do the opposite.

Time is a huge factor on the ACT, while it is not a big factor on the SAT.

If you like science and do well in your science classes, you may do better on the ACT.

When do you take the test:
http://www.actstudent.org/regist/currentdates.html

The SAT tests intellectual ability (innate ability) whereas the ACT measures academic achievement (how good of a student you are).

I've taken the real SAT and a practice ACT from a Kaplan CD, and I think the ACT is a heck of a lot more straightforward. Although it's not nearly as satisfying to do ACT problems as it is to do SAT ones.

I agrea with sean- wikipedia- look it up yourself, a good way to prepare for any test- learn the material yourself-independent studying is a huge factor in getting good grades

I find the ACT the better test; I can't master SAT critical reading no matter how hard I try, but I do really well on AP English Lang/Comp and ACT critical reading. The ACT is more straightforward, and in my opinion, it is the better test. People make the ACT sound really easy, but it really is not. Even though the ACT does not try to trick you, the time constraints are very difficult to master. So, even though the SAT may be considered an aptitude test and the ACT an achievement test, I think the ACT is a blend of both.
