What is IDOC?

Im confused- what is IDOC and how does it work? Is it completely confidential?

Its a paperwork clearing house that College Board runs. If you filed CSS Profile, you will probably be asked to submit supporting paperwork, such as tax returns and W-2s. Instead of having to send it to each college individually, College Board offers this service, to which many colleges subscribe. You will be contacted and told what to send. You send them to collegeboard once, and the schools access them from College Board if they want. Easier on you, less paperwork for everyone, etc.

BUT…not all colleges use IDOC, so you might have to send some of the paperwork separately (example: Columbia University), but those steps are provided to you as you submit your CSS Profile.
