What is it like to live on the East Coast?

^^ True story.

I live in NC, sorry for posting late. I’ll post on the South thread, if it comes around

big dreamer, it came around! lol.

Lol, just posted!

Living in the East Coast is quite interesting if you ask me. Well at least in NY it is. (NYC that is) the people here are diverse and you’ll never get bored. Sadly I must say you’ll have to get used to the weird hobos on the street (and trains), the horrifying yet capricious weather and the gangs/ or people you wouldn’t normally associate with. Many people say us NYers are rude and insolent. The truth is we’re not. But in the mornings you generally won’t see a loquacious NYer. If you warmly greet us and we don’t know you, we’ll think you’re a psychotic predator. And oh if you ever plan to travel around here don’t make it obvious you’re a tourist. But to sum it all up, I wouldn’t wanna live anywhere else either. Its chaotic, and we are literally the city that never sleeps, but its worth living here.

^NYC citizens aer pretty friendly, if you ask the right way or person. I mean when I/parents/friends need directions, people are quick to assist. But I agree, you cannot act too out of place…

You can definitely tell desi_chick is a NYer. She’s absolutely right on everything.

I’ll add one thing: It is NOT smart to drive in Manhattan.

^^ Driving in Manhattan is a suicide mission. I tried once, (not mentioning I don’t even have a license) and almost got into repeated accidents from other people driving insane.

The other day, I was walking near Columbus and 60th and three people were crossing the street just as the light turned green and the cars were like “Dude, lights green, we’re hitting you.” and seriously started driving while these people ran out of the street.

^Lol, unless you’re a high roller who a chaffeur driving them in a Rolls Royce Phantom! You’ll just feel nothing :D

(then again, probably dangerous to travel in such a flamboyant car haha)

LMAO! Funny story Platts.

I live just outside Boston. We have 4 seasons as well has history. Here in MA, we have many good colleges such has Harvard, MIT, BU, BC, Tufts, Northeastern, Amherst, and Brandeis as well as top high schools. People always know you’re from Boston when you travel. We also have good sports teams.

^Had me going until the sports team thing. A cheating Super Bowl team(s), drugged up World Series winners, and long-term friendships benefitting the Celtics (see trades for KG & Ray Allen)

lol, I am only kidding. I have been a Yankee, Colts, and Lakers fan growing up, can’t you tell lol! The new Celtics don’t bother me because the people on the team are likable, can’t say the same for Patriots or Red Sox haha. Boston is like the ultimate college town, and full of rich history + nice area to live in.

I live in Massachusetts and I can assure you Boston is an amazing city. We have Harvard, MIT, many tourist attractions and historic sights. It’s a city you’ll never get tired of and I you to visit!

As a Yankees fan, I hiss at anyone from Boston.

^Lol, I don’t hate on Boston as a city, it’s quite nice actually. I’m just not the biggest supporter of the local sports teams haha  I have been to Boston (for like a day lol), and it was nice overall

@Platts: Woot woot! our Yanks are rolling right now  Eat that Red Sox…
(glad you’re not a Mets fan lol)

^^ Gotta love them Yanks! :D

Woo hoo, today has beena good day lol. More Yanks fans :)

I live in Connecticut, it’s pretty boring here but I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. People here drive expensive cars and live in huge houses (well atleast where I live). I like that CT is a short driving distance from New York and Boston. I am used the bad weather on the east coast, when it gets warm, I can’t handle it (I am so used the cold weather). The schools here are great as a few people have said, ivies, MIT, and great little liberal arts colleges.

I live in Maryland. It’s a really nice state, can’t complain too much. Chesapeake Bay is nice, other than the fact that it is seriously polluted. Annapolis is really pretty. We have all four seasons, although the humidity sucks. The Inner Harbor in Baltimore is great. You can go to the Aquarium, plus there are a ton of places to eat.

It’s also within proximity to D.C., which I really like. I like that D.C. is a metro train ride away from my home in the suburbs.

I really want to visit Boston and NYC though!

Well aren’t you the devil. Did you live in all those places or did you pick the winners? :D

I love Boston, beautiful city. Art, Culture, Food, Sports, it has everything. My only qualm is that everything fun shuts down by 2am, so you can’t party/hang out too long. My favorite city by far, after that is Montreal (so I can drink) then NYC for the night life. I am biased (growing up in the heights) but still, its great.

Northeast has the best cities imo. I found LA, Vegas, and Orlando rather lackluster. I still want to go to San Francisco and Seattle so I won’t pass judgement yet. Chicago is great though.
