What is the boringest book you've ever had the "privilege" of reading?

Pilgrim’s Progress.

That book deserves to burn in hell.

@Keeidy, that’s cool. We read it in seventh, and everyone in that room absolutely loved the book. And then we watched the horrible cartoon :(

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

Monkey: A Folk Tale of China.

Worst book in the history of mankind.

Wuthering heights by Emily effing Bronte. Why I thought that would be pleasure reading I will never know.

I’d just like to point out that some people might like books we call boring. For example, Bella Swan is more obsessed with Wuthering Heights than with Edward Cullen. I have a stron feeling Stephanie Meyer is in love with Wuthering Heights too.

I also love some of Shakespeare’s plays! Especially Romeo and Juliet <3

The Dante Club. Seriously awful.

It’s supposed to be a classic, but Heart of Darkness. It had no plot… thankfully it was one of the shortest books I was forced to read.

the origins of species by charles darwin

I never finished it.

I actually love a lot of these books.

The Portrait of Dorian Gray.
I am a huge lover of the classics and of the tumultuous life of Oscar Wilde, but Jesus ****ing Christ. Reading long, pointless dialogues where the characters sit and talk and whine.

The Quest of the Holy Grail, the summer before freshman year. Uhhg.

To Kill a Mockingbird… 3 times we read that book in school. Ughhhhhhhhhhh.

Catcher in the Rye. I hate iiiiiiiit.

Silas Marner. So. Dry. And. Boring.

Lies My Teacher Told Me for AP Lang. He is way to repetitive. I couldnt stand reading more than 10-20 pages a day (and even that was a struggle)

Oh do I love ap english language. The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinbeck (summer reading… the title says it all if you haven’t read it)
and The Old Man and the Sea (again, another summer reading assignment from 9th grade honors english).

^I liked Old Man and the Sea, it was the perfect story of one man’s futile struggle against nature.

A microcosm for life, I’d say.

I have to agree with Old Man and the Sea, but at least it was a quick read :P

The most boring book I’ve ever read is Brave New World, though.
