Hi, I got in for biological sciences and I was wondering what the campus was like. I have only been to UCSD's campus and it was pretty, how does uci compare? Also MEsa or Middle??

i have friends who go there and they seem to favor mesa over middle because of dorm room sizes, but location wise, they said middle is better :O

UCI’s campus is BEAUTIFUL. They’re almost always under construction, making pretty new buildings The campus itself looks pretty modern in comparison to the other UC’s… but then again I haven’t visited all of them.
My UCI buddies say Mesa, but Middle Earth is on campus (probably closer to your classes) and also has better food.

Ah, since you’ve only seen UCSD’s campus…In comparison, UCI’s campus is built so that everything goes around in a circle (Ring Road). Everything at UCSD is pretty far apart making it pretty annoying to get around. I liked Mesa better because it was bigger and newer. Middle Earth is closer to campus and has better food! But Mesa IS pretty close to UTC too. This is my second year now and I’ve come to really love UCI’s campus. :)

yeah I’m going in the Fall too and from what I’ve seen, Middle is way closer (esp. to the school of Business)
But I guess the room size is…well…

Honestly, I think that UCI has one of the best UC campuses, and I’ve been to most.

UCI’s campus is clean and easy to navigate (it’s a circle!). It’s peaceful and the weather is just as good as San Diego’s. In the middle of the campus, there’s Aldrich Park. It’s a nice place to just relax and it’s really big too. Dorm wise, Mesa seems to be the most popular for the sole purpose of dorm size. I think Middle Earth is better community wise. Middle Earth has been known to have the better dining facilities as well. The ARC (gym) is gorgeous.

The only downside I could probably think of is that if you don’t have access to the car, then you’re stuck on campus. I personally don’t think that the surrounding area is very college-friendly. There are restaurants and grocery shops but that’s it. It’s fine at first, but you grow tired of spending your time eating at the restaurants!

Lots and lots of trees. And yeah, park in the middle, an inner ring circling the park, an outer ring, a ring that circles the entire school, and a road that circles the entire school, so yeah, a lot of circles. I’ve only been to UCI and UCLA and UCI looked much more structured. And yeah, it used to be a wildlife safari, which they built UCI on…so you’d expect green anywhere where there’s no buildings.
