Could someone tell me the number for the frist Calculus for engineering?

Also if I get a 4 or 5 on my AP, which calculus would go to next. Allthough I may retake the first calculus. I heard it is really hard. So I dont want to miss anything by no taking it.

don’t bother retaking it. i did it and it wasn’t really worth it (though its sort of a good opportunity to practice trig if your ap class didn’t emphasize it).

if you pass AB, go to mac2312. if you pass BC, go to mac2313.

My S got a 5 on his AP Calc A/B and took MAC2311 in Fall 2010 anyway. He is happy that he did because he did not want to jump in over his head during his first semester at UF. MAC2312 is quite difficult. Taking MAC2311 his first semester gave him a chance to concentrate more on his other classes (CHM2045!), get used to college life on a dorm floor, get used to how Calc is taught at UF, and to have a social life. It also gave him an easier A to add into his gpa with MAC2311 (somewhat of a review after AP Calc).

gator4ever, just be aware that UF may send you a letter or email telling you that in order to take MAC2311, you may have to negate your AP score in AP Calc A/B. They sent that to my S, either by mail or email, and he agreed to drop/negate his 5 score on AP Calc A/B. He had a great Fall 2010—every home football game, dorm floor fun, fraternity rush(decided not to accept the 3 bids he got).I think it was a good decision for him to take MAC2311 (Kozinski-Engineering section) first. CHM 2045 was rough, and his relatively easy A in MAC2311 helped build his confidence that he could tackle MAC2312 in the Spring. He will take MAC2313 this fall 2011.(Got an A in MAC2312-but it was tough----more theoretical class and often thought of as the hardest in the sequence).

Z—It is not about the football really…it is about sitting in the sunshine in the Swamp with nearly 90-100,000 Gators–old and young, children and senior citizens—Oceans of blue and orange…There is a sense of commaraderie or like mindset/history—all those alumni you see are still so excited to be back at University of Florida. There is a sense of pride in your own achievement in just getting in to this fine university that only accepts around 1/4 of the applicants. You look around and see others like you-proud to be Florida Gators. Have some fun, enjoy the band, the athleticism of the players, maybe see some friends and enjoy the game on a beautiful fall day.
