Is it 15? I try to search it but got nothing on this topic. The only information would be 12 units for one quarter is the minimum for getting financial aid.

Apart from that? What do you guy think about taking more than 15 units in one quarter or less?

Thank you so much!!

Most take 15 (3 classes x 5 credits). It is possible to take 20, but I believe you need your college to sign off on that. My DD took 20, but one of those was as a grader/TA for a lower division course. If you are a freshman and this is your first semester at Santa Cruz, I recommend 15—especially if your schedule includes your Core writing, a hard (physics, chems) science and a math course.

Thanks! But what I am learning in Chemistry and math right now is what I have learnt before… Is it waste of time and money?

You need to have at least 180 units to graduate, so that’s why 15 units is suggested because it keeps you on track for graduating in 4 years without taking summer courses. You can definitely take more than 15 units if you feel comfortable, but that really is up to you.
