The op asked about national achievement scholarship program. Scores are separated by region and not state and it looks like the cut score is usually above a 200-201. There are a couple posts about this in the African American student topic.

National Achievement cutoff scores are not that high - They seem to run 20-25 points below the National Merit cutoff, so 180-200 range. Of course it varies by state just like the National Merit cutoff.

Bob…the cutoffs do not vary by state. They vary by region. I think the highest is still below 200.

goldmind…as for what score to “shoot for”…uh…shoot for the best score you can get.

So what are the regions for National Achievement?

I’m still looking for the regional breakdown for Nat’l Achievement.

i found this for National Hispanic…numbers won’t be the same and maybe the regions will be different as well…but it gives you an idea of "regions’

2011 National Hispanic Recognition Program Cutoff Scores
New England 184
Mid Atlantic 184
South 193
Southwest 182
Midwest 193
West 184

thanks @mom2collegekids. I find this helpful. National achievement shouldn’t be too far off these scores.

I do not believe NA has a cut off, or at least it is not shared with the public, just as the score for who earns NMF scholarships is not shared with the public. It is a holistic process in which GPA and ECs also play a major role.

The National Hispanic Recognition Program is not governed by the same people who administer NA.
