<p>If you’re good at math, an actuary. If you’re REALLY good with computers, you could be a computer systems analyst at some high-level places. </p>
<p>If a HUMAN doctor doesn’t tickle your fancy, consider being a vet…or a dentist. Also, cosmetic surgery doesn’t usually involve life-or-death situations and will be the only doctor job that retains its current salary because it won’t be covered under Obamacare.</p>
<p>Truly, though, the only way to make boatloads of money is through entrepreneurship or investment. I can imagine it requires A LOT of work to be good at either.</p>
<p>The ortho that we use to travel 20 minutes to see built an additional office in our small town. His brother works for my DH and the brother said the ortho built the office because he needed something to do with all his money. </p>
<p>He is a very relaxed laid back guy with a huge staff that does all the work.</p>
<p>I think orthodontics can be stressful(my cousin does this), although yes, it does pay a lot more than being a dentist and can easily turn into a 500k/year gig with a big practice outside a big city. </p>
<p>If you are a talented student(and I’m sure a few people on CC qualify), being a college professor often pays $100k+…there is some pressure to publish but it is not as high pressure as the other “educated” fields of med/biz/law.</p>
