What is the story with college emails?

I am going to be a senior...
My top 2 choices are Tulane and UMiami, and they have been emailing me like crazy. I think it's because of my SAT scores since I got a 2030.
However, my GPA is a 3.0
I think they are getting my info from collegeboard, but the emails say that they want me to apply and Tulane's email said that they were waiving my app fee and letting me use some special app for them.
I obviously know this does not mean I'm in, but does it at least mean they notice me and I have a decent chance?

I wouldn’t read too much into it. I, too, have been getting hounded in terms of letters and emails from both of those schools, but I have never expressed interest in either.

Like I said, don’t read into it. Just make sure your application is great.

^I agree. I have a 2360 SAT score and 3.97 GPA (whatever you think of those things, not trying to brag nor complain), and I get emails daily from Yale, Columbia, and Cornell, but also from Texas A&M, Ithaca, and Framingham State. Take from this what you will; from my understanding, it’s so random.

If allows those test agencies like CB or ACT to send your profile to schools, you will expect to see that. It does not necessarily related to your scores. Some schools may purchase mailing list for certain regions. The schools would not know your exact score unless you submit to them.
