but…what exactly is it? i know it’s the gpa but how is it calculated?

Hi Kayvuvu, sorry for taking so long to respond. Although I was admitted, I will not be attending UCI this fall. (I’m attending UCLA instead.) Because of this i’m not as up to date on TAG agreement contract stipulations, but what I can say is that when I was last chatting with UCI admissions reps. I was told that TAG requirements would not be decided until some time in the summer when pressed a little more, all they could say is that there had been discussions, but that I shouldn’t believe any rumors I’ve heard. I know that is not a lot of info to go on, but I like to over analyze, and so, here are some other things to consider: 1) this past fall UCI was the 3rd most applied to UC, behind LA and UCBerkley. 2) Students can now only submit one TAG to one UC meaning that if 3) UCI has 5,ooo openings for transfers and 5,oo1 students are granted a TAG there is going to be a problem that is going to leave some people unhappy. How is that possible you may ask? 4) Other UCs are discontinuing their TAG programs. Leading to 5) more people submitting TAG agreements to UCI since its the 1st or 2nd best Uc still offering that oh so lucrative GUARANTEED admission in a time where college admission is ridiculously competitive. Meaning that 6) something has got to give.
All of this said, a 3.25 is not bad and definitely makes you a competitive applicant for UCI. If you have any other questions about the transfer process just MSG me. GOOD LUCK!

sorry it wouldnt let me PM this to you…
