I live in San Diego, and all of my high school buddies tell me that UCSD is a rather dull and boring college. Is that true?

if they're in high school, how would they know?

there are a few reasons why ucsd's enrollment is as high as it is -- it is NOT a bad place to go for college.

Spidey1588: I'm a freshman at UCSD and I have heard that UCSD is dull and boring, aka UC Socially Dead. However, it isn't as bad as I thought. While the campus is dull, you can always find parties going on towards the end of the week. Clubbing parties on thursdays, frat parties on fridays, athletic parties on saturdays, etc. If you're into partying you won't be disappointed, especially with SDSU and TJ so close by. If you like to party but would like to do other things, you're out of luck. La Jolla is pretty dull, and to have fun one pretty much needs a car, or know someone with a car. The atmosphere is generally laid back at UCSD, to the point of being very boring and stifling sometimes. Then again I only attended here for one quarter.

The campus itself is pretty tame, but the city is very alive. I don't get why people think they can only have fun on campus.

Do they not understand that San Diego has everything? I mean EVERYTHING.
