I’m a junior in high school right now. I have a 3.66 weighted gpa but it will probably go up to a 3.9 by the end of the year. I just took the SAT and got a 1300. My grades and SAT scores are just okay, but i have some good extracurriculars. My figure skating team competed at worlds and placed third at nationals, and I was team captain. I’m also vice president of the team junior board, and im also involved in some school clubs but not too much. I really want to go to University of Georgia but im not sure if my application is strong enough. I’m also out of state. Could I get into UGA and what other colleges could I possibly get into?
You should start with your in-state universities. What is your UW GPA?
First, will your parents pay out of state (OOS) tuition? Do you know how much they can pay? What is your home state?
Usually your unweighted GPA counts more than weighted. Your SAT seems on track, but GPA/class rank might be an issue – but the GPA they claim on their website for incoming students seems startlingly high given the SAT scores.
What is it about UGA you like so much? What majors are you interested in? There are plenty of other choices, especially if your parents are willing to pay.
My parents are willing to pay out of state and they said that they’d pay for UGA. I live in Virginia now. My unweighted gpa is a 3.42 I think but will probably go up to a 3.56. I just really loved it when I visited the campus and they also have a really good business school which is what I want to major in. What are other schools I could look into that are similar?
Maybe look at Florida state universities.
