What math to take for premed?

I am a high school senior and I have taken up to AP Calc BC. Should I just take calc 1/2 during college, or would other math courses be better? If so, what courses?

You need to have a a year of college level math on your transcript to apply to medical schools.

For most schools, this means 1 semester of Calc and 1 semester of statistics/biostatistics.

A few programs require additional math classes. Or require different classes. ( For example, Harvard’s HST program requires the full calc sequence plus linear analysis.) You should check the admissions webpage of any medical schools you’re interested in to see what their math requirements are.

Statistics is now include on the MCAT.

Statistics is also the only math other than algebra I use on a daily basis as an MD/PhD student.
