What other schools can you apply on Nov 1, if applying to one REA school?

Hello CC community:

My daughter wants to apply REA to one school. The REA school allows students to also apply early to other public schools. Does anyone know if that means “any” public schools? Is there a list of the other schools that can the student can apply to? Does it include UT-Austin?

Thank you for your guidance on this!

All public schools. Including UT schools.

You can apply early to any public’s non-binding option. IOW, if they have an ED option (which few do) you cannot apply ED

Except that you cannot apply to a public school’s binding early decision program. Very few public schools offer this option though (an example is UVA).

The REA school’s web site will have the full details.

Most likely, any public school EA or rolling is ok, but ED is not. But check the REA school’s web site to be sure.

Can you apply to private school that has scholarship deadline say on Dec 1. Or rolling Admission?

Yes, unless it’s that private college’s “early” plan (EA/REA/ED).

So for example if the scholarship deadline is part of the RD round you’re fine.

@DadOfJerseyGirl is correct. Make sure to apply by the scholarship deadline but select RD as the application round.
