Which schools did you turn down?

all of them except cal poly slo.

UC Davis and St. Mary's(CA) a few years ago.

Rose Hulman, Purdue, UCSB

Daughter chose Cal Poly over UCLA, Berkeley and UCSD.

momz: why is that?

She planned on UCLA. Visited the campus loved it etc. Then visited a friend at Cal Poly and fell in love with the campus. She is an outdoor person, hiking, biking etc. Though she liked UCLA she did not like the city atmosphere. She also really liked the agriculture/animals of Cal Poly. Her major is Econ. She did a lot of soul searching before her final decision. Her dad and I stayed out of it. Now we feel she made the right choice. Her final decision came when visiting a cousin at Cal Poly Pomona. While there she said she just knew Cal Poly was for her. It's funny because I'm a Cal Poly SLO alumni. Both my kids always said they would not go to their parent's school Their dad graduated from UCSB. Well never say never....

I actually did turn down UCSD and UCSB. Today I realized I should have put more thought into UCSB but I'm still glad I chose SLO.

If I had it all to do over again I would have done some things differently, thats for sure.

lol I chose ucr over slo....:( It was a stupid move

I chose SLO over UW, SDSU, UCD...got rejected from UCSB and UCSD.

"lol I chose ucr over slo.... It was a stupid move"

and the retard award goes to...

"and the retard award goes to..."

A bit harsh, but I also wouldn't have made that decision. Perhaps he/she liked the research opportunites at UCR?

How's business admin at SLO?

i know someone who turned down princeton, nyu, duke, cornell, ucla, uc berkeley, uc san diego, rice, northwestern, and uchicago, for cal poly SLO. shows how good slo really is!!!

the_who:

what the f###???

Is that really what it goes to show? If you say so . . . perhaps those people all wanted to study engineering or architecture, maybe business, maybe they loved the west coast, the weather, the money saved, the atmosphere, the people . . .
