What should I do? Significantly dropped on SAT?

I took the SAT in March and got a 1980 (CR: 640, M: 640, W: 700) without studying. I took it again in May and studied this time but I dropped to a 1920 (CR: 620, M: 670, W: 630). I felt a lot more confident taking it a second time. I think i'm going to get my score verified.

Should I take it again a third time? Would that look bad to colleges? I really wanted to go to UChicago or Cornell...

From what I believe, you control what scores colleges see. However, I could very well be wrong. 1980 seems to be pretty close to excellent compared to my score, but you might want to try to beef it up a bit if you’re considering Cornell.
