What should I expect to hear in April?

<p>Finishing up my college apps. What do you think the outcomes will be? Accepted, Rejected, or Waitlisted?</p>

<p>Senior in PA public school; high school gets about 3 or 4 kids into top schools each year, but if it makes a difference, most kids just apply to state schools.</p>

<p>Intended Major: (varies from school to school) Linguistics, Comparative Lit, or Sociology</p>

<p>GPA - 3.81UW ?W
Rank - 1st Decile</p>

<p>Courseload:</p>

<p>English - all Honors 9th-11th
Social Studies - all Honors 9th-11th
Math - Honors in 9th grade, then dropped to accelerated, plus AP Stat in 11th
Science - regular level 9th-11th</p>

<p>Senior schedule: AP Biology, AP Economics, APUSH, AP German, Latin I, Honors Humanities, regular Calculus</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>Treasurer of Student Historians Club 10th-12th
More on the club: we worked with special needs kids and helped them do crafts/helped organize activities for them to do; We do this "Walking Tour" where I'm a tour guide for the elementary school kids. I take them to different historically significant landmarks in our town and explain why they're important.
Civil War Reenacting in Gettysburg for about 5 years
NHS
Won 2nd place at a German Fallfest competition at Millersville University
Scored in the 85th percentile on the AATG (National German Exam)
Been working as a cashier at a supermarket for over a year</p>

<p>SATs (blargh) - 650CR 630M 700W = 1980T
SAT II's (even worse) - 670Bio 570USH 570German (my score here was messed up because my proctor told me that I could disregard the listening portion of the test if I wanted to do reading only. So I have to call collegeboard now -_-)</p>

<p>Essay: I wrote about how my job as a cashier helped me come out of my introverted shell and how this personality change has affected my life in other ways. Dunno, it worked.</p>

<p>Haha...or you can say reach, match, safety, etc. I know it's a bit ridiculous to predict whether I'll get in or not. I'm just curious as to what y'all think will happen.</p>

<p>I'm really bad at chance-ing but I thought I'd let you know that I'm also applying to UMaryland College Park for linguistics; it's supposed to have one of the best programs in the country, right up there with some Ivy League schools. And I'm also an AP German student :) </p>

<p>I think you're a good match for Maryland, I don't really know about your other schools though. </p>

<p>Suggestion: Unless you've already sent everything in, don't send your SATII scores for schools that don't require them. I was told that mine would weaken my application, and my scores were similar to yours but a bit higher in US Hist and German, except I got a 690 on the French and didn't take bio hahah. If it's too late, don't worry about it.</p>

<p>I know a few people who have gotten into Temple with less impressive stats, so I'd consider that a definite in. Not really sure about any of the others, but just thought I'd add my two cents.</p>
