I had like 4 W’s ^^

i think you are missing the question. you need 60 semester units with PASSING grades. do the 60 units you are using to transfer have a letter grade of C or better?

^ yes, otherwise my gpa would not be 3.63

they were all passing

i thought maybe you calculated it as 39 units → AR and then 21 units -->3.63

hmm… there might be some huge mistake on your app. have you logged back onto the site and looked it over? next thing i would do is call them and see if you can get them to tell you why. but its not unheard-of that people get accepted to UCLA and not davis. some reviewers just see different things in an application. if it was just GPA, classes, and ECs then a computer program would be able to spit out decisions in a few minutes

I think it probably has to do with the fact that your academic renewal is still processing, so officially those grades haven’t been wiped off. I don’t know if the UCs have some way of checking into that without a transcript, but my money is on that, because if it hasn’t processed then there would be a serious discrepancy between your reported GPA and your actual (temporary) GPA.

they only know what you told them. almost positive on this.

what is your major? did you complete all pre reqs to it? I know that my counselor emphatically told me to complete ALL my major pre req’s. Are any of your math or English requirements being completed this semester? That may also be an issue as they may be wanting to make sure they are done. Other than that, I dont know why you wouldnt have been accepted. Definitely call them monday and find out. sucks bro.

good luck dude. maybe they were drinking martinis when they reviewed your application. call them for sure! anyway, CAL and UCLA will probably accept you and then you won’t care!

Northbeach, check back into the ucsb thread, I asked a question of you i think. if not, i may be confusing with you a different poster.

^ okay, i will look. go UCSB!

I am an older student who will be transferring to UC Davis this fall (TAG was approved), 99.9% sure all is well. I first attended community college in the 70s when I was in my 20s. I had a D, a C and maybe one F. Even though my CURRENT community college gpa is 3.9, the UCs look at you CUMULATIVE gpa from every single cc you have attended. Therefore, my gpa according to my UC Davis application was 3.47. If you added your low gpa in there it would definitely affect your current gpa. In other words they will consider your gpa from all cc’s not just the one at your current school. I don’t know anything about the particulars of academic renewal so I cannot say how that factors in.

UCR and Davis will take transfers with less than 60 units, as seen on the last page of this matrix:

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/files/CC11_TAGMatrix_final.pdf

The only people who can tell you exactly why you were rejected will be the admissions office at UCR, give 'em a call and see whats up.

^ just noticed that this chart is for TAG’s. did you see a chart for regular transfers? thought someone posted one earlier. maybe i am getting dotty.
but it looks like you can only get in with under those 60 units at those two schools if you have TAG?

the main transfer requirements seem to be listed here and state that students must have the 60 units.

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/transfer/minimum-requirements/index.html

if you scroll down you will find “lower division” transfers, but those look tougher to get.

Oh, whoops… yeah, I meant to post this one.

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/files/CC11_TransferMatrix_final.pdf

^ thank you so much, i swear you posted that. then all of a sudden it said TAG’s? haha, i really am going bonkers. only three more weeks. thank you so much! that is fantastic, wanted to post it in another forum where kids are getting jumbled about the 60 unit deal.

ouch thats harsh did you not do something right? I got into UCR with a 3.23 c gpa WITHOUT TAG. I got into UCSC through tag and UCSD through ULINK. did you remember to update your grades last winter semester? I might have gotten in because I am mixed and that school values diversity but thats pretty messed up i thought schools stopped the whole affirmative action thing. (Mixed black and white). when you did your tag application in november, did you tell them the truth about ALL courses youve taken out of high school? I went to Mira Mar college in san diego my first semester where i got like a D and a C in some classes. They werent transferable but I still told them thats what I got. Im transfering from Mira Costa. email me if you have any questions dremaniac11***********

^^California did made affirmative action illegal.

I got denied from UCR with a GPA 3.69.
I got accepted from UCSB.
Still waiting for UCSD (Tag), UCLA, UCB, UCI and Davis.
