WHAT THE HECK?!?! DENIED from UC RIVERSIDE?! (SRS)

Please respect the serious tag. I got denied from UC Riverside with a GPA of 3.63 with 56 units

Am i doing something wrong here?

Applied for business administration

Question for you guys:
Does the UC system know what my GPA is already without having to see my transcripts? Reason I ask is because I wrote that I did the AR (academic renewal) at my old college, but the files have no processed yet.

Thanks.

If you are aware, I'll rep 10k points.

I think it may be due to your lack of units. Don’t you need 60 semester units to be eligible? I might be wrong about this because I stopped caring about how many units I needed because I have over 90 now.

3.63 with 56 units

56 units

Denied from UCR?!

What are your stats? Are you on your way on finishing IGETC? 60 UC-transferable units? Etc.

Because I’m reading your screenshot and realized that they said you did not meet the eligibility requirements.

::EDIT:: Wait, that rejection looks like for Freshman’s…because it’s encouraging you to apply as a transfer?

my.ucr.edu/admissions/Pages/pathsAdmission.aspx
“Complete 60 transferable semester (90 quarter) units with a GPA of 2.4 for California residents and 2.8 for nonresidents.”
“Complete 60 transferable semester units”
“60 units”

Sorry forgot to mention that I am taking 11 units this semester to fill up my 60 units.

But I also took 39 units at a CC in San Diego Mesa college, which I applied to be AR’d (Academic renewal).

Ugh this is complicated to explain but here’s the story
-39 units at Mesa
-1.38 cumulative GPA

 • Applied for AR
 • GPA will prolly be around 3.0 (I retook an art history class again, got an A at SMC)

Average that out with my current SMC GPA 3.63. Why did I get denied?

time to bump my thread?

Lawlking, LULZ will rep you right now! I’m fully charged (srs) link to one of your posts

@Jetlogic, yea but I am taking 11 units atm. My friend who has 45 units applied at the time, and is now taking 16 units but he still got accepted.

wat do?

You can appeal, its possible they might of added the 1.38 GPA into your SMC GPA. And other UC’s might follow suit. Email the admissions.

P.S. I quit miscin last year, I spent way too much time on that addictive site.

That’s a shame you quit :frowning: could’ve repped you… feelsbadman.jpg

Do the UC’s already know what my GPA is without me having to send in my transcript? Maybe they misunderstood it as me lying

You should really give them a call. You’ll go crazy trying to figure it out…

^Well, if you didn’t input your 1.38 GPA on your UC application then they wouldn’t have known. Unless you get checked through the database that can tell the UC’s which schools you have attended in the past–but this is very rare.

Be sure to take a multi and lift heavy

^^ Thanks I will call them first thing Monday morning.

(951) 827-1012

@lawlking, when I saw the decision I just berstared the monitor and was like “IS THIS REAL LIFE?”

I will call them monday tho

:) Good luck!

When you entered in your grades from Mesa on the UC app, did you actually list the letter grades or did you list them as AR? If you didn’t list them as AR that could be your problem. Just an idea. Good look to you!

Wow, a lot of LA people representing this thread

Feels good :)

@LAforlife, 10q brah

@LAladyy, I put it as AR!~

so you received academic renewal for 39 units worth? you’re not counting those 39 into your 60, rightt?

That’s really strange.

Maybe UCR doesn’t accept AR?
Maybe you accidentally put San Diego State instead of San Diego Mesa College somewhere?
Too far away from Riverside?

???

@Citiz3nerased, not all 39, at most 15 (W,W,F,F,D) which is one semester there. the other semester was B,B,C,D where the D I retook at SMC and got an A.

@poserbruin

 1. they should, given that they are a UC
 2. Nope lulz
 3. nope, my friend who lives in the same apt as me got accepted.just doesn’t make sense

wanna double check with you, you did not count any D, F, W, or AR course units into your 60 transferable units, right?
