I’m an incoming 9th grade student going to a NE boarding school, my parents are new to the boarding school sense seeing as my brother goes to a day school. Now that summer has come I want to be prepared for when I have to go to school I need help with little things that they don’t mention on the list of supplies the school gives.
@Enweonwus I’m also a rising freshman at a boarding school in NE, but my 3 older siblings also went so I remember some of the things that they freaked out about every year the day before they were supposed to drive up :)) !
-Def some organizational stuff like you get from the container store (extra drawers, storage, hangers, space saving stuff cuz you’ll bring a lot more stuff than you think and it’ll take up a ton of space)
-knick knacks + small things that’ll make your room feel more homey
-a calender and/or pinboard to hang somewhere in your room so you can hang up important stuff or info on schoolwork you have due. Def helpful so you don’t blank on really important stuff.
-SUPER IMPORTANT get bed rises so that you can lift up your bed and put a futon/pillows under there to hang out on and do work there.
-Futon should also be on your list because where else where you sit in your room when you are hanging out with friends in there. When you are decorating your room think about making your room the party central of all of your peeps.
-Febreze if you are messy just cuz everything might get kind of gross.
-If you aren’t doing the laundry service at your school, bring TONS of quarters so you always can do laundry if you need.
-Posters/tapestries/flags are fun, too.
-Shower shoes are a must
-Hamper and laundry bag
Overall just look around your house and your room and think about stuff that you would have a hard time living without. Good luck!!
