What to brush up on for placement exams

Hi I still need to take my placement exams and I would like to just refresh my mind a little on chem and the math. We are a few weeks into summer and I haven't taken chem since sophomore year. I did really well so I'm not too worried but I don't want the placement exam to not allow me to enter chem 1 in the fall. Any advice or insight to how easy/hard the placement tests are would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks:)

I took both of these tests last year. The chem exam was really easy for me. As I recall, the chem questions were based mostly on concepts from 10th grade chemistry, so that combined with the low score standards makes it easy to test into chem 1. If you remember the concepts well, it shouldn’t be problems. The math section is basic as well - a high school sophomore could probably pass it with ease. I got all but the 1 question I skipped correct, but I also took IB Chemistry HL in high school

The math exam is a little long and tedious. Most of the questions are heavily based on precalc, and they expect you to use their online calculator (which absolutely sucks) rather than your own. My least favorite parts of the exam were the trig questions (my biggest weakness in math), and the graphs, since the graphing tool is awful. Just brush up on your worst concepts, use your own calculator (it’s not like they know if you do), and be patient.

Unless you’re half-asleep while taking these exams, you should get the score you want.
For the chem exam, you’ll at least want 6/10 on both the chem & math sections.
For the math exam, you’ll want at least 75%.

Good luck :)
