Hi!
I had a super random question for anyone else taking placement tests for this fall. Does your Chalk account give any indication that you have completed a test once? I completed my Chemistry placement test last night and while it says it only allows one attempt, it lets me click on the test and has the option to take it again. Wasn’t sure if I messed up anything/there’s a chance my test didn’t go through the first time?
Thanks!
My daughter took the chem placement weeks ago and it hasn’t shown any result yet (unlike the Math placement). However, you might be able to find out your chem score or at least figure out if your score was recorded. In Chalk, click on the Summer Placement Test Link , then the Start Here link, then scroll down to My Grades and click. You’ll see four options: All, Graded, Upcoming and Submitted. Click on “All” and it will give you your total score out of the total possible for all the tests you took, even those that aren’t graded. My kid only did Math and Chem and she knows how she did in Math so the difference is chem. If you took Math, a FL, and a chem, you should still be able to figure out if the total number possible corresponds to the totals of all three tests.
Hope that makes sense!
Update: if you still don’t see any evidence that you took the chem placement, best to call the college and get a confirmation.
@JBStillFlying Thank you so much!! This definitely helps, as I saw the math results but not the chem ones and was convinced I had missed a step!
Just wanted to add that the chem test is out of 30 - so if the system recorded a grade, there should be a discrepancy of at most 30 points due to chem.
Hey JB - hope all is well on your end.
Chem test is 15 questions - honors Chem is another 15. Not sure my daughter took that one.
@Shrmpngrtz we are doing great - hope you and yours are as well!
@JBStillFlying
You’re right - 15 for Chem and 15 for Honors. I was just pointing that out because I believe on the Chalk page it looks like the test is out of 72 (or something like that.)
@Shrmpngrtz - ah, yeah, I noticed that as well. Not sure what it meant. And there are two tests listed w/o distinguishing which is which. D17 took the standard one so that she had an option to enroll for chem - doesn’t plan on it but wanted the option just in case. So the first chem placement test listed for her showed a - / - which we at first meant submitted but not graded. However, with that 2nd test showing - / 72 we gave up on gleaning anything from those details and just focused on her total score which shows what looks like (Math + Chem Correct) / 65 with 50 for Math and 15 for that first chem. test. That’s what we concluded, at any rate. Based on her apparent score, D17 is pretty sure she qualifies for baby chem and nothing more, which is fine with her as she’d rather re-visit the subject and really learn it this time around.
