What to do next summer (summer '10)

hey guys so this summer i really did nothing which kinda depresses me... So i decided that i should start planning what I want to do next summer so that I don't end up in the same situation.

So these are my options that I've come up with:

-Volunteer abroad in Latin America through a program. (duration 4-8 weeks)
--Summer programs at Harvard, Brown, etc. because they help with the why _____question. I could also get a recommendation from one of those professors
- One of those research programs such as the NIH program or the Cornell nanotech internship.
- the last option that I can think of is that I will be starting to work in a lab nearby beginning in the school year. Should I just continue doing more of that during the summer next year? That way I would be able to continue to do some of the voluntary work that I do in the hospital as well as probably go to volunteer in Latin America for 4 weeks, and possibly attend the National Forenscics League Tournament.

What do you guys think? Sorry if it seems like im just rambling on, I just really want your advice.
:) thanks

bump please?

guessing that you’re a junior now then?

 1. I think you could apply to the NIH program and Cornell internship. If you get in, go for it. 2. Apply to a harvard brown summer program as a safety. Feel free to ditch them if everything or anything else works out.
 2. Go for the volunteer if you want and it fits your schedule. Or if its truly what you want to do.
 3. or you could just combo the things that you want to do, like in your fourth option. I guess.

Sorry if that wasn’t very helpful… :)
