What to do to get into NYU?

I'm currently a rising high school junior and recently ended my sophomore year on a pretty strong note. My UW GPA is 3.5-3.6 range (school doesn't give weighted GPA's or class ranks) and I will be taking all AP + Honor courses next year. My GPA is actually only for my sophomore year because I spent 3 years studying overseas and only came back after my freshman year (I was a top student back in my old school). I currently attend a competitive NE boarding school, and I really only started picking up significant EC's until sophomore year. I haven't taken my SAT's yet but I've taken a number of practice tests and have scoring in the low 2000's, I'm hoping for at least a 2100 by the time I apply.

How can I improve myself to become a competitive candidate for NYU?

Continue to challenge yourself with rigorous classes and include volunteer work and get involved with some type of leadership role. The best thing to make yourself standout is to continue to do these things because you want, not just to make yourself look good. Working at a job also helps. Best of luck.
