What to wear in college?

To start, this thread is not for girls, it is for guys. I have been wondering to myself what I am going to wear next year when I go to college. What do you wear around campus? Another thing that is bugging me is the fact that probably 85% of my T Shirt drawer are shirts from my high school. I will look like a walking talking advertisement for my hs. Anyone else encounter this problem?

Uhm, a t-shirt, jeans, shorts, button-down shirts, polos, sweatshirts, sweatpants when you’re lazy? You’re not going to an Inaugural Ball dude.

the same **** you wore in high school

I love when people try to act like college kids are some conformed group that follow set standards on what to wear. We’re hardly different in what we wear than high school students or non-college 20 somethings. Some people will bum it to class in sweats and a t-shirt, some prefer to get more dressed up. It’s all personal preference. College kids don’t dress the same, so stop acting like we do.

its college man, just chill they’re only 1 year up if your a senior. they wear what they want to express themselves, or just wear regular clothing hha

Obviously you need to go to class in black tie. After, you can go a bit more casual…a blazer and some appropriate pants will do. No matter what anybody else tells you, this is how everybody dresses…even women.

It’s college; nobody cares. Wear whatever you feel like.

For me, it’s a solid-colored t-shirt and some slacks or jeans. However, others like to dress up once in a while. It’s really quite indistinguishable from high school. Just imagine all the high-school shirts replaced with college shirts.

Whatever you do, people are far less judgmental, so wear what you like!

Wear a bikini. This is freakin America, you can wear whatever you want.

woah there okay everyone who thinks im a conformist loser…
Let me address a couple things…
I go to a private school with a DRESS CODE… so BAM! Most of your points are obsolete…
I know I am going to end up wearing my school gear half the time, and no one addressed this but… do any of you know people like that who wear HS stuff excessively?

I know a few people who wore their high school clothes a lot. I go to a new school know but 70% of my clothes when I arrived here was stuff from Purdue, where I went my freshman year. People do not really care… It’s your decision.

People aren’t going to judge you for wearing high school shirts

The only thing they might judge you for is wearing shirts of a rival college.

Not really. You can still wear whatever the ■■■ you want, preppy. Don’t tell me you never went outside on weekends

BAM!

Well what did you wear when you were hanging out with friends outside of school? Once you answer that question, you’ll know what you’ll be wearing in college.

If you don’t wear college appropriate clothing you will be sniped from the guard towers as soon as you walk on campus. If you have bad pants but a good shirt they’ll usually just take out one of your knees, but if your whole outfit is bad, let me tell you, shes nothin but head shots.

Don’t wear a Favre jersey.

We talked about what college students wear in my sociology class…specifically what the students at my college wear (and yes, it did have to do with class - dramaturgical analysis). Basically: Jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants.

Take pride in the way you present yourself.

Express yourself… make it an expression of your self-love

dont worry about what anyone else thinks… be amazing… be you

I wear mostly High school garb…soccer shirts or baseball shirts really. It’s almost kinda sad like I don’t have a life outside of my school. I’m not really worried so much as I know I will be able to joke around with kids that I am a walking advertisement for my old school.

Well just buy some new clothes then? It’s not that hard dude.
