As we are now into hot weather, was wondering what son should wear to Bama Bound. Our previous visits have been in colder weather and he’s worn khakis and polos, but didn’t know if he should wear shorts and tshirt to Bama Bound, since he will be meeting with advisors. I’m sure there’s casual time for the kids to dress down, but what about when they go to register, attend info sessions? We’ll be at Bama Bound June 1 and 2.

He can wear whatever he likes (advisors know its summer), but wearing in a nice pair of shorts and t-shirt would be nice. They will be getting their photos taken for their Action Cards, but that is a shoulder-up shot.

I’m sure at orientation there will be plenty of people wearing just jeans and a tshirt and there will be people in khakis and a button down. There is no suggested dress code for it. However, your child should dress how they typically dress and something that is comfortable for them. They should probably wear tennis shoes though due to a lot of walking.

Thanks for the heads up on the picture. Forgot about that. Polo and khaki pants will be too hot, especially with the walking, so we’ll probably do shorts and tshirt. What about parents, what should we wear? Will we be doing a lot of walking, too?

We went to early honors and my son wore a button up dress shirt (not tucked in of course) with khaki shorts. I must say he seemed a little over-dressed. Most of the students were in t-shirts and shorts. As a matter of fact, they gave all the students “bamabound” t-shirts and he wound up changing into it toward the end of the day!

Shorts and a t-shirt is fine, khaki shorts and a polo if you want to get a bit dressier. I certainly wouldn’t go any more dressy than that.

What? Are you telling me this is out, NJ? :)

Don’t worry about your clothes for Bama Bound. Be cool and casual.

Counselors just look over your schedule…no big deal.

The only thing I can add is this … clothing is not optional.
