What UC's should i aim for?

<p>Well, I'm not as driven as most of you folks on this site are, but what UC's should i aim for?</p>

<p>Background-
2/3 Filipino & 1/3 Spanish/German
Ca
Gpa-
uw(10th-11th):3.861
w:4.055</p>

<p>Breakdown(1st sem and 2nd sem)-</p>

<p>10th:H English-A H English-B
Mod World Hist-A Mod World Hist-A
H Algebra 2-A H Algebra 2-A
Biology-B Biology-B
PE-A PE-A
Spanish 2-A Spanish 2-A</p>

<p>11th:H English-C=( H English-A

<p>Class rank: Top 10%</p>

<p>For 12th grade, I'm goin to take AP Cal, AP Gov/H Econ, AP Bio, Spanish 4, Art(1st sem)/Speech(2nd sem), and English CP</p>

<p>Test Scores-
Sat 1:1860 (540V/680M/640W; I plan on taking it again in Oct. and hope to get 2000+)
Sat 2: Took it yesterday (Chem & MathIIc). I'm guessing I'll get 650-690 for math and 630-690 for chem.</p>

<p>EC's/Volunteer work: To be honest, NONE. I don't know, I'm pretty much a lazy person. I'm goin to do a bunch of volunteer work over the summer though if that helps.</p>

<p>Miscellaneous: I'm not sure if this matters, but I'm one of six kids and neither of my parents went to college. I also share a room with two of my brothers who are drug addicts and partygoers, and I'm pretty much the only one in my family who is doing decent in school.</p>

<p>Right now i have my eyes on:
-UC Davis
-UC Santa Cruz
-Cal Polytechnic: San Luis Obispo
-UCSB
-Any others?</p>

<p>Why no APs in 10th and 11th? You have top 10% and average uC SATs, so Davis and SB are matches, SC should be a safety. First generation (are you low income?) especially if yours is an inner city school, could give you a shot at the top 3.</p>

<p>If you get your sat's up, you should be shooting for top tier UC's (Berkeley,UCLA,UCSD) Right now they are either reaches or slight reaches. </p>

<p>Berkeley/UCLA: Reach (no ec's)
UCSD: Reach (no ec's)
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match
Cal Poly Slo: Match/Safe Match
UCSC: Safety</p>

<p>What about my EC problem? Aren't they a much bigger problem than my SAT's? And how much do you recommend I increase my SAT score by? Also, is USC's admission process tougher than that of UCLA's?</p>

<p>Edit: Oh, i forgot. If I were to join the cross country team in the fall season of my senior year, would that help?</p>

<p>joining cross country wouldnt help that much, doing one sport your senior year nad having the be your only ec would just kinda show that your just trying to squeeze stuff in to stuff on ur app</p>

<p>I can understand that, but what "I'm trying to get at is, will anything i do senior year matter much (since app deadling is somewhere between oct-jan)?</p>
