@JoRocks posted on the Boston College waitlist thread today.

“Got an email this morning from an associate director of admissions. " As of today, it is highly unlikely that we will be taking any students off the waitlist."

Son got call today from Colgate.

Would it be appropriate for me to email the college I’m waitlisted at to check on the status?

@karstar. Very short and letting them know you still are incredibly interested and would they have any sense of where things are wouldn’t hurt. You may not hear anything or get the generic admissions response.

Perhaps start with “you know how incredibly busy they are. However, I am incredibly interested in attending u Alaska and” … that sort of thing.

Short polite and reminding them in a soft way that you are committed to attending if admitted.

@privatebanker Thank you  It’s to Swarthmore, and I’ve been neurotically checking my email and these forums for any updates, but so far I’ve found nothing.

It’s an intense place. Great school no doubt. What is your current committed school ?

The University of Delaware. A good school, but far from my top choice. I’m doing what everyone has recommended against and really hoping I’m offered a spot from the waitlist.

Middlebury told me Friday that they are in the middle of going to their waitlist.

@karstar. Three solid options.

  1. Go knock the cover off the ball at UDel and have a great time. Make tons of friends and great memories. You can do anything in the entire spectrum of the world. Like run for President like VP joe Biden
  2. Get into swathmore from WL. Do the same as above. Perhaps not quite as fun. Lol.

3 take a gap year and choose a few more schools bridging the UDel to swat spectrum. No real rush in life.

Best of luck. !!!

Thank you!

University of Washington began accepting people from the waitlist per the cc thread.

@KarStar agree with @privatebanker . Fine to send a short email to inquire about wait list notification dates, if it is not posted on their school website. That is what I did , and how I got back the email update. :frowning:

According to a poster on the Northeastern 2023 thread her son received an email stating they aren’t taking anyone from the waitlist.

Harvard’s waitlist is active.

School counselor says word is Tulane will not be going to waitlist. FWIW.

Does anyone know if University of Richmond will be using their waitlist?

I read that Berkeley is having a second wave and that Brown is calling people from waitlist.

UPenn WL is active.
