Ds has one this summer. Just wondering ...

Very laidback and with a current senior. I can’t remember exact questions or anything, but it wasn’t stressful at all.

Mine was totally fun. Absolutely the most laid back of all the interviews I did (6 total).

It was with a current senior at the admissions office. I got lucky because I was late to the info session I had signed up for, and she was the one who walked me there. When she came out and told me she was my interviewer later, I was really relieved because I had already gotten to know her.

We just did the basic questions and we spent a lot of time talking. We talked for a long time about our best friends from home. It was like talking to an old friend a little to be honest, but discussing interests and high school life. Then she invited my dad to come in, who totally had a little crush on her, and we chatted for like… another fifteen minutes. He still asks about her a year later. Haha.

This is all a really long way of saying the interview is really lax and fun. No need to over-stress.

Carleton by far was the most relaxed and interesting interview I had. My interviewer (a 2002 alum and admissions counsellor) was fantastically nice. I had taken some time off school and had a bit of a complicated history - and really he was the only one who didn’t make me feel awkward about it AT ALL. Still…I got waitlisted.

But seriously only good things to say about the admissions office and my visit. The tour guide was also the most impressive student out of all the tours I went on.

My interviewer was an admissions officer. It was relaxed, informal, and fun, and probably helped them get to know me better without much pressure.

Did you all do your interviews in Minnesota? I’m all the way in Arizona, and I honestly don’t think I’ll have a chance to visit the campus before I apply. (Although I’m currently planning on applying ED.)

Nope. I had an alumni attending graduate school in my area (a few states away) as my interviewer. It was very relaxed. She let me pick the location, and seemed fine with it when I chose a coffee shop close by. She had a legal pad with a bunch of questions on it that looked pretty intimidating (I read them upside down) but didn’t wind up asking many of them. We mostly just talked about my activities and interests.

thank you!
